String Ensemble Series
Duets for Two Violins – Book 1
‘Young String Players’ presents two books of Violin Duets, carefully crafted to enhance technical and musical development during the first years of study.
A piano accompaniment is provided for each title and is a fundamental addition to the score. While giving an audible pulse and a guide for secure intonation, the piano introduces colour and texture to the music, giving the young player a more satisfying musical experience.
The duets are readily played by the youngest of beginners, giving them an enjoyable and confident introduction to making music together.
Young String Players’ duet series is the perfect resource for a junior school string department and a valuable addition to early years string programmes.
All titles are sold as easy to download digital PDFs from the ‘Young String Players’ website. Scores and piano parts are formatted to print as booklets and the purchaser has permission to photocopy all instrumental parts, making life easier for the instrumental tutor. Free piano accompaniments are provided for each title. Just click on ‘Piano Accompaniments’. All instrumental parts are printed with easy to read notation and without clutter, maximising the focus and concentration of the young string player. The ‘Beginner Level’ string music is readily playable by beginners after very few lessons, delighting their parents extremely early in their development with delightful and charming music. Because of the linear movement of the simple notation, any young child of any ability is a able to participate. This series takes away the necessity of having Open String parts or Pizzicato parts, which can be extremely banal and have very little developmental value for the young string player.
